Implants can be used for
- Replacing a single missing tooth with a crown on the Implant.
- Replacing more than one missing teeth with a bridge on the Implants.
- In those cases where a full denture is being used,
Implants can be used to give the patient fixed teeth
In crowns and bridges the adjacent healthy teeth have to be ground down. An implant is like an artificial root. It is placed in the bone where the original root of the tooth was. Once the tooth is properly fused with the bone, a tooth is placed on the artificial root (Implant). This is almost like the original tooth only better because it cannot get infected. It is expected to last a life time.
